We know that a lot of you are asking the above question. We wanted to let you know that we are working as quickly as possible to update you on the status of your application, we just have a LOT of applications in our queue to be updated. Take a look at our application cart:
We will send you a status update email every time your application is touched by someone in our office. If you have any questions about missing materials listed in this status update, please respond directly to the email. This is the best way for us to answer your questions because 1) the person who most recently updated your application will receive your question and 2) we will have the email context to help us see exactly where your application stands.
Another post that might help you better understand our application process is our Man vs. Machine post--give it a read!
If you have questions about this process, please leave them here.
Is it right that you will let a applicant know the decision exactly within four weeks after files were completed? Thx
ReplyDeleteYou will receive email notification from our office when your decision letter is available for view in the Apply Yourself system. It will happen about 4 weeks after you have received email notification that your application is complete and has been sent for faculty review.
ReplyDelete(We can't promise exactly 4 weeks to the day as sometimes weekends/hoidays can affect the timeline slightly, but we do try our best to stick to our 4 week turnaround!)
Hello GSE admission guys! I heard from gradcoffea that some people got your email within 4 weeks ( one of them got that in only 3 weeks, he got admitted), while some haven't got the decisions after 6 weeks. Is it correct that people getting earlier notifications are the group accepted quickly by the faculty, and the rest group, don't get offers in 4 weeks by working days, are generally rejected? You will notify those accepted students earlier and put backward those rejected ones? Thank you!
DeleteWe monitor the time on each application and try to get decisions out as close to 4 weeks as possible. If you'd like to inquire about your individual status, please contact the program manager of the program to which you applied.
DeleteAlso, make sure you're checking spam folders for decision available e-mails!

Look for the division to which you applied to contact the appropriate program manager.
Is this also true for doctoral applicants? When can applicants for PhD programs expect to hear a decision?
ReplyDeleteThe timeline for our doctoral applicants is slightly different. The faculty are currently working to identify who they feel are the top Ph.D. and Ed.D. applicants. Those individuals will be invited (in the coming weeks) to campus to participate in our doctoral applicants' weekends. After the weekends, the faculty will make final decisions. These decisions will be communicated late February-early March.
